“Thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” Job 22:28
In Job, we see the law of attraction personified in this verse. While Job himself was seen as suffering for no reason, often we feel the same. But here he is reassessing, and he knows that when the light shines, all is well. The light is coming out on the other side, the side of rewards, material blessings, intangible blessings of harmony, peace, joy, calm.
It is important that we understand what “decree” means. We have to know a thing to be true, have no doubts. Doubts will block our good every time. When our mind and heart are crystal clear, that is when the blessings rain down upon our heads. But only then, in clarity, nothing murky.
If we cannot decree a thing, then we are not ready for that particular blessing. Casual affirmations don’t mean to “decree.” Casual affirmations in which we cannot really believe will not get us where we want to go. Affirmations require the whole force of a strong personality behind them. If we can believe with our whole heart, we are onto something. The whole world may doubt, may not stand behind us, but if we know in our deepest heart that a thing is true, we are very, very likely to be right.
I once believed a thing that none of my family and friends believed to be true. But this belief was the deepest thing in me, barring none. Years and years have passed, and I still believe it. Such is the power of belief strongly held. And nothing has ever happened to sway my belief. I was onto something.
In the midst of conflicting evidence, still this belief has held sway. And I expect that eventually I will know that I have been accurate in my understanding. Miracles placed in our heart by God have a place of honor that no human dissembling can displace.
Decree a thing in which you really believe, and see what happens.
We all could be pleasantly and happily surprised.
