“I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.” Martha Washington (Mrs. George Washington)
“The better you feel, the better life gets.” Rhonda Byrne
Martha Washington knew what she was talking about. And our dispositions ARE amenable to our will. When we determine to raise our mood, we will do just that. Our will acts in our lives to make for better things.
Raising our mood by an act of will does not, of course, always happen right away. We may need to go within, to commune with our inner nature, God Himself, to effect change. But change will come when we are determined.
Determination is the great motivator.
