“Spend the remainder of the practice period in thinking of yourself as completely at peace with everyone and everything, safe in a world which protects you and loves you and which you love in return. Try to feel safety surrounding you, hovering over you, and holding you up. Try to believe, however briefly, that nothing can harm you in any way. At the end of the practice period tell yourself:
“Love holds no grievances.
“When I let all my grievances go,
“I will know I am perfectly safe.” A Course in Miracles, Workbook, Lesson 68
These are good words to use in affirmation, in conjunction with the law of attraction. I wonder if many of the ideas in A Course in Miracles are meant to change our mind slant, for there are some indications that the author (believed to be channeled by Jesus) understands the law of attraction. If we use the words in this quotation often, we will indeed stop feeling so oppressed by a hostile world. And I believe our very perception of the world will change, for our inner world makes our outer. As A Course in Miracles says elsewhere, “Projection makes perception.”
Safety is something we all crave. And all too often we feel ourselves assailed by anything but safety.
Let these words drift over our consciousness. See if we don’t experience a new peace, a peace that will expand the more the words are said.
And this exemplifies the law of attraction.
