Focus on a Right Thing that Doesn’t Elicit Doubt

“The number of thoughts you put into something and the intensity of emotional energy you have about something are important elements in determining how quickly you create it.  The emotional desire you have to achieve something is very important.  Emotions propel thoughts into reality by their intensity.  You need to maintain a consistent focus and desire and sustain it over a period of time to manifest what you want.  The less doubt you have about getting something the more rapidly it will come.”  Personal Power through Awareness, by Sanaya Roman

Yes, doubt is the killer, as Sanaya says.  But we can’t fool ourselves, trying, hope against hope, to have something that just doesn’t, in our heart of hearts, feel right.  If we doubt, maybe there is good reason for that doubt.  Maybe what we are trying to manifest is just the wrong thing.

How do we move to what is right?  We commune with our depths.  We center ourselves.  Ask some pertinent questions.  We might best do this questioning on paper, journaling about what we really want and why.  If we feel a rightness as we journal, we are on the beam.  What we are journaling about is the will of the Universe for us as well.

We can go against what a Higher Power would like us to have, but to do so is to risk peril.  We may not be ready for this good thing that we are asking for.

Seek discernment in our wishes to manifest.  Test out, if possible, whether or not this “right” thing is really right.

Our innermost thoughts and feelings will take us home to the right pathway to our dreams.

Think Numerous Thoughts of the Positive

“Most of you think about something once, maybe two or three times a day, and then you wonder why it takes so long to get it.  Thoughts are energy.  The more you think about something, the more energy you bring forth from your inner world to create what you want to manifest in the outer world.”  Personal Power through Awareness, by Sanaya Roman

So numbers make a difference!  Sanaya makes this plain.  It is another way of saying that our focus is what we will get.  What we focus on.

We need to be certain that the thoughts that fill our minds are the very things that we want.  If we allow stray thoughts to mushroom in our minds, especially if these stray thoughts are fears, we will be in for trouble.  We can let the negative thoughts rest lightly on our mind, rise above our negativity.

“We will rise above,” was a statement that a friend and I said to each other in college when something bad came along.  I still use the sentence, speaking the words to myself, when needed.  It works.  It changes the focus on negative to positive, and it reminds that I can cope.

Cope today with our lives.  Let go of the idea that we aren’t strong enough to overcome the negative thoughts that tend to crowd in.  Remember that when we focus on the positive constantly, the positive is what will manifest.

Let the positive manifest today.

Self-Hypnosis

“For five or ten minutes a day at the most, then, use natural hypnosis as a method of accepting desired new beliefs.  During that period concentrate your attention as vividly as possible upon one simple statement.  Repeat it over and over while focusing upon it for this time.  Try to feel the statement in whatever way is possible—that is, do not allow distractions, but if your mind insists upon running about then channel its images in line with your declaration.”  The Nature of Personal Reality (a Seth Book), by Jane Roberts

Seth is here emphasizing a potent form of affirmation.  In this passage he also recommends that one do this exercise for 30 days, even if it seems to be working well.  Seth believes that hypnosis is active all the time for us, that we are hallucinating the world in which we find ourselves.

I sometimes have difficulty sleeping, and I have been trying, for a number of days, the affirmation, “I sleep smoothly, easily, and peacefully all through the night.”  I can attest to a considerable improvement.  I still wake up several times a night, but I say the affirmation then, and also say, “I am getting very, very sleepy.”  This lulls me to sleep.

I recommend Seth’s proscription.  Certainly there is no harm in trying.  It follows along with the law of attraction, in that what we focus on tends to come true.

Avoid Saying, “What Is Wrong?”

“Individuals can go from psychologist to psychologist, from self-therapy to self-therapy, always with the same question: ‘What is wrong?’  The question itself becomes a format through which experience is seen, and itself represents one of the main reasons for all limitations, physical, psychic or spiritual. . . .

“At one point or another the individual ceased concentrating upon what was right in certain personal areas, and began to focus upon and magnify specific ‘lacks.’  With all good intentions, then, various solutions are looked for, but all based upon the premise that something is wrong.

“If such a practice is continued, the concentration upon negatives can gradually bleed out into other previously unblemished areas of experience.”  The Nature of Personal Reality (a Seth Book), by Jane Roberts

Psychotherapy is flawed, as many of us know.  The focus on what is wrong accentuates what is wrong in our minds, and thereby spreads it forward into the present and then the future.  It also bleeds, as we read here, into previously good areas of our lives, turning even good things into worse experiences.

We need to get the question, “What is wrong?,” out of our minds.  This is focusing on the negative, and what we focus on materializes.  Focus is everything.  When we reframe the problem area into positive words, we are heading into the right track.  We are remembering that positive attracts positive, just as negative attracts more negative.

We ought to remember in our day-to-day round what has gone right in our lives.  This will, in an almost magical way, bleed into the things in our lives that are brining us dissatisfaction.  But this bleeding is in the right direction.  We will replace what we have lamented with the happier state of what we really want to be actualized.

Our Life Is Already an Act of Creation, Fully Realized Within

“Your life is already an act of creation.  It was created.  All of it.  It exists, fully realized within you.  Your work here is to express it.  You are far more than your life here.  You created your life here in union with the one mind and one heart, in union, in other words, with God.  Everything you have ever wanted to be is.  Everything you have ever thought or imagined is and is reflected in the world you see.  The only difference between the life you are living and the life you want lies in your willingness to express who you are.”  A Treatise on the Nature of Unity and Its Recognition, from A Course of Love

We are multidimensional personalities, living a life of who we are—if we are lucky.  We can move into “who we are” at any time, and this becomes a difference that is truly living rather than existing.  We are one unity, with God, one mind and one heart.  And this life is our own creation, created in conjunction with God as we perceive Him to be.  This life is fully realized within, in the place that God lives through us.  We are not separate from our Creator, and we have only to open up our psyches to Him to have abundant life.

If we live with the Force (God), we will live a truly magical life, a magical life in the best use of that term.  It will amount to living in true reality.  This true reality is the joy, harmony, peace, mellowness, that we all wish we had all the time.

It can be ours.  Keep one ear cocked to guidance from within, and then live what that guidance says.  Always the guidance, if true, will be helpful to all, will harm nobody.

And we will live a mellow life, catching glimpses of enlightenment as we live in abundance with every good thing.

Every Aspect of Life a Symbol of What We Have Chosen

“Just as you would go to a grocery store and choose what you will have for dinner and then go home and experience your creation so too do you choose each experience.  When you choose a perception, you lodge it in the mind.  Then it expresses itself through the body, through the environment that you create around yourself and through the friends that you would call into your awareness.  Every aspect of the life you live is the symbol of what you have chosen to experience and, therefore, to convey throughout creation.” (“The Way of the Heart,” Way of Mastery, Chapter 2, Page 13)

We are in the driver’s seat in forming the experiences of our lives, even as we choose the foods that we want to eat in a trip to the grocery store.  It is up to us to keep our attitudes uplifted, for depressed moods create less than desirable realities.  Negativity breeds negativity.

If we are downhearted, then the best thing that we can do for ourselves is to shift what we are thinking by changing what we are doing.  If this is currently impossible, then the next best thing is to change our attitude toward what we are doing.  This is not so hard to do when we are intent upon creating good circumstances of our lives.  We are then motivated, knowing what we know.

Sometimes we are involved in symbolism in the midst of life.  The symbols too are creations of our reality.  We can more easily change symbols than actual ongoing events, and then we will see the ongoing events shift and change as well.

Life proceeds the way we have chosen.  If we don’t like what we have created, perhaps unconsciously, now is the time to make our decisions conscious.

And in a positive vein.

Higher Images

“Watch your words and your energy as you move through the day.  The instant you notice that your energy is dropping in any way, that doubts are creeping into your mind, that you are feeling bad about who you are, stop.  Take a deep breath and look inward for a higher image.  You broadcast images from moment to moment, and people pick them up and respond to them.

“If you want to know why something happened to you, hold up the belief that you do know why.  It is important to learn forgiveness, because every time you replay a negative memory, making yourself wrong, you are creating it again in the future.”   Sanaya Roman, Personal Power Through Awareness

Higher images are important; what we carry as thoughts are important, for they are broadcast to others, even as we take them inward to our own heart and soul.   If we replay negative memories, Sanaya says that we will be creating them anew in the future.

On top of all this is the truth that we just feel better when we carry positivity in our thoughts.  Surely we do know that we attract more of what is held in mind.  If we want to enjoy our lives, we must exercise initiative and lift the mind to higher levels.

Keep to the upbeat.  Re-slant the mind to a healthier focus.

See if this doesn’t make a difference, a big difference, and immediately.

We can do it.
